PEE WEE DIVISION

Silver Dragons: A special shout out and Congratulations to “Big E” for carrying his first touchdown of the season!!! WAY TO GO ELAN! Big UPs too to the Silver DEFENSE!!!  We shut down Orange’s Offense completely, allowing NO Points to be scored against the Silver D. I saw SO many great tackles and fantastic play by everyone.  Zack and Devon kept up the pressure against Orange’s backfield with a relentless blitz and numerous sacks for big losses. Our D Backs got the job done.   CJ rocked it at OLB – I saw him do an amazing TD-saving tackle on #4 from behind.  Max also provided great pursuit, denying what would have been a TD sweep in the first half and was tackling ruthlessly.  They let nothing get past them. Ty, Noah and Blake did GREAT at Corner today -  they handled their jobs perfectly, turning Orange’s RB back in for crushing by the Silver D and knocking him out of bounds again and again.  I saw these boys in on lots of good team tackles too.  Excellent job! Laurent and Elan were the backbone of our 6-2 scheme.  They clogged up the middle and kept constant pressure on Orange’s O line. Silver D’s day was punctuated by 2 fumble recoveries from Zack.  The first was a big 20yd+ fumble recovery for a TD… and a second that closed out the game and put an end to Orange’s final red zone drive.

The Defense Played Lights Out and we dominated the game when we had possession… Silver Dragons offense scored twice! The boys truly played like a team, I saw great execution and solid blocking on every play. Our O line made big holes for our backs and they gave Max plenty of time to throw, allowing him to connect on more passes than in any previous game. And I was very pleased with all the boys because they did an excellent job of running our 3 new no-huddle plays (Anytime an opposing coach gets miffed that Silver’s Offensive machine is lining up and running plays too quickly, I’m thrilled.)

Offensive highlights include a hand off to Devon, who jukked, stiff-armed and crashed his way through 3 tacklers for a 25yd+ Rushing TD.  I also saw great blocking by our linemen and excellent carries for positive yards and big first downs by Ty, Max and Zack.

FRESHMEN DIVISION

Orange Dragons 6 VS Silver Dragons 0

The Orange Dragon Freshman ran their record to 6-0 today with another win over the Silver Dragons.  This was a very close game, as the Silver Dragons gave it everything they had, but the Orange prevailed.  The scoring took place early on the 4th play of the game when Ben Presser hit Sawyer Sethman with a beautiful post pattern for a 65-yard touchdown. There were no other scores as the game clock ran out with the Silver team on the Orange 10 yard line.  Bryce Simon was all over the field today on defense with more than a dozen tackles and several nice runs. Steve Tinsley also had some nice runs and several nice tackles.  Sawyer Sethman saved the day coming up with several big tackles as well.  Romeo Sanchez was the anchor of both the offensive and defensive lines.

Silver Dragons: With 2:45 left in the game, the Silver Dragon’s defense was up to the to the task getting the ball back for the offense hoping for a last minute drive.  With just two time outs left, the Silver Dragons were able to march the ball down the field but with the ball on the 5-yard line, ran out of time.  This was by far the most exciting (and competitive) of the three games played so far against the Orange Dragons with big runs from Dylan Jones-Lewis and Christian Opalsky and strong defensive play by the game’s MVP, Justin Guilfu, and OLB, Christian Bolden.  The offensive line, anchored by Max Metzger, Nathan Alexis and Chase Begucci, had another strong game controlling the line of scrimmage.  Although it was another defeat to their division rivals, Orange Dragons, the team now feels more ready than ever to go up against the Orange Dragons in the Dragon Bowl.

JV DIVISION

Silver Dragons 26 VS Orange Dragons 0

The Silver Dragons had terrific team play on both offense and defense.  QB Aaron Angelos had a running TD and a passing TD to Nate Nelson.  Later in the game Nelson added another touchdown and interception.  Miles Franklin had a touchdown and extra point.  Carson Coons added an extra point to make the final score 26-0.  The offensive line led by Anthony Urbano kept the pressure off and defensively the team had key tackles from Griffin Burke, Tristan Smith, Dominic Mecca and Matt Hamorsky.

Orange Dragons: Offense:  The offense started the game strong, however, failed to put any points on the board.  Kyle Cox (FB) ran strong up the middle and gained positive yards.  Jonathan Swartz had two receptions coming out of the backfield.  Defense:  The defense did a great job stopping the Silver’s passing game.  Anthony Molle and Jake Remler were solid at covering the pass routes and forced Silver to run the ball.  JV Orange, unfortunately, was not able to put it all together this week and also shut down the run.  JV Orange looks forward to another opportunity in the playoffs.

Gold Dragons 8 VS Light Blue Dragons 0

Gold Dragons: Interception by Adam Will, Fumble recovery by Roger Edge, 4th down, TD run by Dylan Barovsky, Kick return reverse for 35 yards by Chase Calver,   2 point extra point conversion and interception by Jared Hollander

Teal Dragons 7 VS East Boca Wildcats 0

Michael Zanders with a fumble recovery, excellent job by o-line and defense!

VARSITY DIVISION:

Orange Dragons 8 VS Gold Dragons 0

Varsity Orange completed the regular season undefeated Saturday with a shutout victory over Varsity Gold. Varsity Orange put together a strong performance on both sides of the ball with a total team effort. The defense played especially well shutting out the high scoring Gold offense.

Gold Dragons: Marc Goldschmidt, Todd Hankerson, Robert Bagley had an outstanding performance on defense, Kyle Romano and Brandon Rashkin on offensive plays

Light Blue Dragons 26 VS Silver Dragons 20

The Blue Dragons finally broke through and put a win on the board beating Silver 26-20 with 3 fourth quarter touchdowns.  Long scores by Jonathan Gebka and Gabriel Alexis sealed the win.  Defensively Bobby Smith had an interception; Tommy Morrelli forced a fumble, which was recovered by Jonathan Gebka in the end zone for a defensive score.  Joe Santiago forced and recovered a fumble setting up Blues winning scoring drive.

Silver Dragons: A much-improved Light Blue team gave Silver a battle after coming back from being down 20 points in the second half. Playing hard for the Dragons was Austin Pomianoski, Jonathan Resnick, and Tahj Laguerre. Dylan Dalbey had great runs and finished with 1 rushing TD. Great touchdown pass from Brett Siegel to Frank Sonnie for 45 yards. Sonnie also added one rushing TD.
