West Boca Tackle Video highlights – September 10-12th from Glenn Remler on Vimeo.
Freshman Division:
American Bancard 6 – Hurricane Grill & Wings 0
The Orange Dragons (American Bancard) won a hard fought overtime victory against the Silver Dragons (Hurricane Grill & Wings), 6-0. It was a great way to open the season and all of the boys learned some great football lessons. For the Orange Dragons, Steven Tinsley scored the game winning TD and had another long TD run called back on a penalty. Bryce Simon was a tackling machine on defense. Great play on the offensive line by Billy Stricker and Bradley Shimel.
The Silver Dragons (Hurricane Grill & Wings) defense was anchored by both Josh Weidlich and Dylan Jones-Lewis- each with two sacks. The Silver Dragons passing defense, led by corners Justin Guilfu and Ryan Cohen, was up to the task only allowing one completion for a 3 yard game the entire game. But the game ball unanimously went to Will Frith- hustling on both sides of the ball. Will’s effort was never more evident then when he stopped a long gain at the 3 yard line from the opposite side of the field.
Junior Varsity Division:
West Boca Metals – 0 VS East Boca Falcons – 6
West Boca’s offensive line provided solid blocking (Chris Kerr, Kevin Hanekom, and Shane Ellis), that resulted in consistent first downs and rushing yards. The offense, however, failed to close when in the Red Zone on multiple occasions. A lesson learned of the importance of “finishing” the drive. In the end, it was a defensive battle. West Boca JV Orange was put to the test in stopping a 150+ pound back and met the challenge. Other than one play that resulted in a 80+ yard TD Pass, the West Boca defense was solid the entire game. Standout defensive players were Jake Remler, Ethan Fox, and Moise Phil who shut down the run up the middle.
IFII.com – 12 VS Bernstein, Miller & Associates – 6
The Silver Dragons (IFII.com) – Miles Franklin touchdown setup by Aaron Angelos 25 yard pass to Benji Vogel. Nate Nelson with a fumble recovery and touchdown. Defense held opponent to three first downs.
The Teal Dragons ( Bernstein, Miller & Associates ) – Lead by Mason Moch had a great 60 yard TD run. Johnny Staten with a pair of sacks and a nice reception. Michael Porter had multiple tackles and solid blocking.
Varsity Division:
Evolution Fitness – 20 VS Wristband Specialty – 6
Orange Dragons ( Evolution Fitness ) – After a devastating injury to Grant Telford, Varsity Orange showed a lot of heart and put on an amazing performance despite being down 5 starters. Colby Saul turned the momentum in Orange’s favor late in the 2nd half stripping a Silver RB of the ball and recovering the fumble before scoring his 3rd rushing TD of the game. Patrick Boylston played amazing on both sides of the ball. Scott Sokoloff’s interception sealed the victory with less than a minute left in the 4th quarter.
Silver Dragons (Wristband Specialty) – Bradley Feingold: 8 rushes 68 yards 1 TD , Evan Miller: 3 rushes 15 yards; 5 tackles, Frank Sonnie: 2 rushes 12 yards, Dante Gulla: two tackles for a loss; overall 3 tackles , Austin Powmaowski: one tackle for a loss
Saveology – 42 VS Father Nature’s Lawnscapes – 0
The Gold Dragons ( Saveology.com) - 3 TD Brandon Rashkin, 2 TD Runs Robert Bagley. Defense of play 3 shut outs 3 games. Owen Levine great running on offensive, Thomas McGowan defensive play. Mike Greenwood great defensive tackles.
The Light Blue Dragons (Father Nature’s Lawnscapes) – We had some nice runs from Michael Giordano. Unfortunately we weren’t able to put much of a competitive effort this evening. We will get them ready to play for the next game. We have to keep trying to get better every practice.
